From the foundational Pong to iconic arcade games like Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command and Battlezone, Atari was the early pioneer of coin-op games. The famous American publisher and developer was founded in June 1972 and was pivotal to the creation and development of the video games industry today. One is the Atari name – the company that invented Wii and Sega for the time being, but never started making games until later. The games industry has a unique number of owners who have been around long enough to celebrate the 50th birthday. All of these passed by with little or no mention of their achievements, whereas it seems to have been sick to hear about them by the end of the year. The 40th anniversary of Donkey Kong was celebrated in the association with Mario, the 30th anniversary of Sonic The Hedgehog, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat, and Mario Kart, and the 25th anniversary of Pokemon and Resident Evil, as well as many more. In last two years there were many important anniversaries, that the pandemic has managed to completely destroy.
